In the world of industry and material processing, sieving efficiency is essential to ensure the quality of the final product. In this context, modular and inclined sieves have stood out as innovative technologies capable of optimizing classification processes, ensuring more accurate and economical results. In this report, we will address the main advances and advantages of these two approaches, for those looking to improve operations.

Modular Screens

Modular screen is a game-changing tech on the material sorting industry, offering unparalleled versatility and customization. Designed of interchangeable individual modules, these screens allow for customized configuration, adapting to the specific needs of each application. The use of this model also allows the simultaneous classification of multiple granulometric fractions, saving resources and physical space. With the possibility of adapting the inclination of the screens as needed, it is possible to obtain greater efficiency in the separation of materials, raising the purity levels of the final products.

“The modular screens manufactured by Athox stand out for their acceleration, which allows the classification of difficult materials”, guarantees Paulo José Alves dos Santos, director of engineering and innovation at Athox Mining Solutions. According to him, power transmission is done through a cardan shaft that connects the electric motor to the screen vibrator assembly.

“In the vibrating set, the amplitude can be regulated by a counterweight that has seven amplitude positions. Equipment and critical elements are calculated on the computer using the finite element method. The solution also complies with safety standards, with protection on its rotating elements”, he adds.

Inclined Screens

Another technological solution highlighted in the industry is the inclined screen, which enables a more efficient handling of the material, increased processing capacity and better separation. The inclination of the screens allows the displacement of materials along the screening surface, optimizing exposure and passage through the meshes.

This results in a higher screening rate, reduces the possibility of blockages and increases the overall throughput of the process. Another benefit of inclined screens is the possibility of adjusting the angle of inclination, adapting them to the specific materials characteristics to be classified. In this way, efficient classification of different particle sizes is achieved, without the need to invest in several separate screens.

Athox has in its portfolio inclined screens that use different types of screens media (metallic, rubber, among others), including customized solutions. In addition, the equipment features ideal acceleration for sorting difficult materials. The power transmission is done through a cardan shaft, which connects the electric motor to the screen vibrator set. In the vibrating set, the amplitude can be regulated by a counterweight with seven amplitude positions.

Comparison between Technologies

Regardless of the technology, both screens have significant advantages in the material classification process. Athox has monobloc and modular versions, in addition to the multislope or constant slope option. The big difference is that the modular ones make it possible to work with different amplitudes in each module.

According to Paulo, this shows that technological evolution in the field of screens has boosted efficiency and productivity in the classification of industrial materials. And he concludes: “Although each one of them has its specific merits, it is important to emphasize that the choice between modular and inclined screens will depend on the needs and individual characteristics of each application”.
